Greg Giant is a registered pharmacist; he has led a career pursuing his passion to create a path wider than he inherited. His goals have always been in healthcare hoping to see improvements in patient outcomes leading to long healthy lives.
Having a strong background in farming, he saw healthy practices of growing produce and raising animals in a what is seen today as organic. Going to Purdue’s top-rated school of pharmacy, it provided classes taught by the textbook authors in how most drugs were derived from plants and the study of herbs as medicine. That would have a lifelong influence on alternate therapies.
Pharmacy seemed like a logical way to understand the body function. With natural herbs and synthetic pharmaceuticals, these were ways to tame bodily dysfunction. Greg worked with both the large established and the small entrepreneurial pharmaceutical firms. This allows him to work with some of the most potent acute care pharmaceuticals and meet some of the top researchers in their field. It was also important to analyze and understand the relative strengths with different drug study designs.
In Greg’s most current career as an integrative consultant, he has studied to understand the chronic medical care of patients. What he has learned is that prescription medicine for inflammatory and autoimmune disease has become a big industry for chronic drug intervention, but little has been accomplished to produce a pre-disease health. Food and herbs as medicine can help deprescribe patients. This involves research looking to the past ancestral diets and lifestyle habits – in other words looking BACK TO create THE better FUTURE!
